The same day, Sarah and her cute friend, Stephanie (who happens to be African American) came home from school together and started working on homework. Because I was stuck at the already mentioned, very awkward doctor's appointment, Sarah got Matthew off the bus when he came home from school. He walked in the front door, unloaded his stuff, and then suddenly jumped back and said to Stephanie, who was sitting on a dark brown recliner, "Whoa! You scared me. You're camouflaged on that chair!" Again. Hilarious. But awkward. Very awkward.

Umm. Who are those boys' parents?
While sitting in the exam room at the pediatrician's office, Jacob and I were looking at a magazine together while Megan had her check up. Out of nowhere I heard what sounded like "What the he**?" uttered from Jacob's mouth. My eyes widened and my head jerked up. Jake was completely absorbed in the picture he was looking at, and in an attempt not to draw more attention to ourselves, I whispered, "What did you say?" Jacob didn't pay much attention to me, but quietly and absent-mindedly replied, "What the hiya, hmmm, hee." I looked up at the doctor and at Megan and asked, "Did he just say what I thought he said?" They both laughingly confirmed it. I stammered, "Where did he hear that?" (I'm sure the doctor thought, "Duh, probably from you!") But, really, I don't say that. (Out loud anyway. I would be lying if I said I didn't think it from time to time.) Really. Hilarious. But awkward. Very awkward.

Oh dear. Ha, ha. Those are funny...and awkward.
Bwa ha ha ha! So hilarious. And Kim, I know you walk around all day cussing up a storm!
Usually something isn't truly hilarious unless it's also a bit awkward. Your boys clearly have a gift for humor. :)
It's more likely Jacob learned that phrase at my house, and not from Mike. For some reason I really like that question. Sometimes it's the only thing one can say about certain situations.
As for the girl in the chair...
One time my cousin Aaron (who very often struggles with tact)ran into Kendall Youngblood, a very famous, and very dark skinned, basketball player from Utah State, in a parking lot late at night. He was startled when coming upon him and said, "Hey there Kendall, I hardly recognize you in the dark!" Talk about awkward.
Ha ha ha. Love those boys. And the rest of y'all too! We need to get down for a visit soon - it's been tooooo long!
You're kids have so much personality!I love it!!!
