We actually had this little field trip month or so ago, but I wanted to post about it, anyway. Longwood Gardens was having their "Orchid Extravaganza" in Jan-Mar, and I took the 3 younger kids to "Or-kid day". Get it? (You know I chuckled when I saw that, Karen.) We had a great time feeling warm and playing. There were also some spectacular flower displays which I, of course, cannot do justice to with my mediocre camera and photography skills. Sorry for all the pics - you'll have to teach me how to do your collages, Cami. (I'm terrible at picking only a few.)
After making their "pollinators" at the craft station. . . pollinating the flowers.
Enjoying the silver desert section.
The kids LOVED these instruments made from natural materials.
Stopping to smell the flowers.
THE END

I adore orchids and Your-Kids. I wish we had somewhere like that to escape to in the middle of our drab brown winting (winter-spring hybrid).
And I think all the pictures are great, although I've heard Google's Picasa software has a great collage tool (it's free, unlike Photoshop, which is what I use).
What a beautiful place! I love Orchids. They're so delicate and different. How bad can an afternoon with the flowers be?
Fabulous pictures, fabulous flowers, fabulous place that I miss so much...and yes, i had to laugh at "or-kids". I can only imagine how that thrilled you... ;)
If I were to post pictures of all the flowers around here now, we would have a blank screen. However, I definitely enjoyed yours, especially the ones with the cute smiles (children).
Looks like lots of fun. I think I would like to escape there myself. I need spring at this point. Winter just keeps trying to hang on.
I need to go to this Longwood Gardens. I have heard RAVE reviews. And by the looks of it, it's beautiful...I'm impressed how often you seem to get out there and enjoy it, way to go Kim.
Who is the other Laura, and why must she insist on having more interesting comments than me. My comment,"I like those flowers."
