The Great Valley Forge Pumpkin

We had a fun pumpkin carving party this weekend at some friends' house. They are amazing hosts and had a delicious dinner and desserts for everyone (probably 20 or so families!) They also provided carving tools and candles for everyone's jack-o-lanterns. We enjoyed scooping out pumpkin guts and visiting with friends. A contest followed, and although we didn't win any prizes, it was fun to see everyone's creations lit up together. Unfortunately, I didn't get any good pictures of that. Jacob (what pumpkins?) spent the night playing with their extensive train collection in the playroom. Fun night.

I love people who host large parties where everyone gets to come and enjoy themselves and they do all the work. Nice friends you have.

Every year I forget how much I hate pumpkin guts until a pumpkin is open anew and my hands get that drying slime feeling. But it looks like your crew had a good time! I like the picture of Sarah displaying the innards.

We are very impressed with your pumpkin-carving-party. We did so well that our pumpkins are still out on the front steps in the state they came from the garden. No jack-o-lanterns for us old fogies! Good for you energetic people and your neighbors!

I celebrated pumpkin day by eating some pumpkin-from-a-jar pie. Made by somebody else. I guess I'm old like you, Mom. Love the pics, Kim!
