Again, I am so sorry if I have upset anyone. Darin and I are still pondering and discussing adding another human child to our family. I promise I will not tease you if we do, in fact, decide to go that route in the future. Wish me luck with the new baby - of the dog variety!

More details . . .
So, we already know that we will be adding a girl to our family. She is due this Thursday. She will have beautiful dark brown eyes, white fur, and a black wet nose. Oh, I'm so sorry to have misled you all, but our new family member (at least for the next three months) will be a darling West Highland Terrier by the name of Lucy. (I really didn't think anyone would believe me - honest!) My great friend, Sarah, is going to be living in Spain for the next three months while her husband is working there and they needed a home for Lucy. We were happy to adopt her into our family. This will be a good trial run for getting our own dog. April 2010 is coming fast . . . if you don't know why that date is significant, Darin promised the girls over five years ago that they could have a dog . . . hoping they would forget about it . . . in April 2010. Oh, how time flies. I do consider a dog like another child in terms of time commitment and responsibility - which is why I've put it off as long as I have. I just don't know if I can love a dog as much as I love my kids even though I know it will take up much of my time and care. So, for now, I truly am feeling ok about our new family member. Ask me how I feel in three months.

Ha ha ha... you totally had me. But I forgive you since I love dogs. And this joke is much funnier than Peter's "Cami died in a car accident" or Cami's "Peter and I are splitting up" jokes that they find so hilarious. ;-) Congrats on the puppy!
OK that was good! The funny thing was that last night I had a dream that you were pregnant, you had also moved out to live with the Amish!
I totally bought it Kim! My heart went up in my throat.
Anyway, I'm glad you're having this opportunity to have a trial run with the dog. It's a cut one too. I remember you saying that Lucy loves you. I just worry that you'll all get so attached and then have to give her back. If that happens you'll know that you want to have a dog.
What's not to love about a dog! They're the best family members ever and everyone benefits. We'll take any additions to our family and especially like the human variety! I hope the doggy adjusts well!
Oh you are in soooo much trouble.
Okay. It was a little funny.
I'm so sad my computer was broken for the last few days and I didn't get to fall for it. Good one!
Good luck with the dog. I love the idea of a "test-drive."
p.s. Laura, those jokes Peter and I play are nowhere near as funny as the one you played on me when we were little: "Cami, I'm dying, I'm dying!" and then you flop on the ground with your eyes closed and I sob my little 4 year-old eyes out. Repeat every month or so for five years.
WOW! Lucy may never want to come home! She will get so much more attention at your home than she does mine. Thank you so much for watching her, Lucy already knows and loves your family, she will feel right at home.
Adios!
Sarah
one day 'till she comes!!!!!!!!! I LOVE Lucy!!!! She's a great little dog!
You are so funny! That was classic. I needed a good laugh today even though I am a little late in reading all of this. Good luck with the puppy. My kids have been asking for an animal for years and I have yet to give in. My mother keeps saying we are depriving them. Oh well I will have to see how your experience goes.
