We decided Megan would also enjoy the egg hunt so we spent some time at one of our favorite nature trails while waiting for her to return from school.
Don't the eggs look pretty with the fall flowers and leaves?
Rather than Easter baskets, we used the Halloween bags.
Fun, fun, fun!
I think Matthew may have just started a new tradition for us. As a side note, after sorting, stuffing, and waiting, Jacob decided he would rather ride his scooter than go on the egg hunt! An hour after Megan and Matthew had found all the eggs and devoured the candy, Jacob decided he was ready to look for the eggs! Too late, buddy! Maybe we'll have to do it all again tomorrow!

How fun is that?! I definitely think it's a tradition in the making. I LOVE it.
Looks like a fun tradition you are starting.
I must have a fall egg hunt immediately. I love it more than Karen does.
I love the mish-mash of seasons and holidays in this activity. My kids would have LOVEd it. And yes, the eggs do look pretty amoungst the beautiful leaves and fall flowers.
How clever! I always think I'm going to reuse those darn plastic eggs, but then we kick them around (in pieces) for about 4 months until I go bezerk and on a rampage to throw away every last one of them. What a fantastic idea (to store them and to have a fall hunt)!
I LOVE it more than Jill's kids, Laura and Karen combined times infinity.
What a fun idea.
Whatever. Just remember Kim. I loved it first.
Grandap Dave: Shoot, why not have one in December just before Christmas and then another during the July patriotic month. You could use Santa Bags at Christmas and put fire crakers in the eggs during July with the fuses sticking out of the eggs. There are some folks who think that might be kind of fun.
What a great idea. yes, the eggs look beautiful next to the Fall leaves. I didn't get to say goodbye to you at the shower the other day, it was fun to see you and catch up for a quick minute.
From the real Lynette: Did I mention that you are brilliant and that you are a very creative mother with fun children?
That sounds like alot of fun!!!
